Good News: The antibiotics have been working and there is improvement, and I am not in pain anymore. Dr., “I am really hopeful about this.”
Less than Good News: I have to wait until the antibiotics wears off to know if my body is done with the infection. Dr., “We are not out of the woods yet.”
She did give me 2 more weeks of antibiotics so that I will not have to worry about it as we are traveling in the south, but when she told me what the surgery entailed (which I will know about in 3 weeks or so) it made me a little nervous. You know fun phrases like, “open wounds,” “re-stuffing cotton into the sores.” So, the saga is to be continued, but I am committed to not fretting over it as “today has enough worries of its own.”
Paul and I were talking about how fortunate we are to even have this kind of access to physicians and medication. Seeing what women have gone through in India to have children makes me feel pampered to the max.
Thanks for all of the inquiries and prayers. Grateful beyond words.
Quick update from the doctor

I’m glad that things have improved somewhat. I will be praying for you, that you wouldn’t need surgery at all!! We had a great time seeing you 3 when we were back…thanks again for your hospitality.

Congrats on your beautiful little girl! I’ll be praying for your infection to completely go away. Sounds like you’re doing great adjusting to motherhood in the midst of all the ups and downs.

Hey guys – I regretfully have not been on here much in the last month – so busy and tired. I am praying for you guys, and I hope everything is going well. Maddux is indeed so beautiful! You are very blessed!
Did Eric email you, Paul, to tell you we are coming up there in less than a month? Flying with ALL four kiddos?!!! haha! I hope we get to spend some time with you! Love you!
